Nursing School Leads Outreach in Rural Southern Africa

U.Va. nursing professors Marianne Baernholdt and Cathy Campbell and two students will spend three weeks in South Africa building partnerships, researching palliative care needs, developing care assessment tools and training health care providers and community workers.

Adams Named Interim Provost While Search Continues

J. Milton Adams was recently named interim executive vice president and provost of the University, replacing Dr. Arthur Garson Jr., who stepped down this spring, but recently announced he is remaining at U.Va. as a University Professor and director of the Center for Health Policy. A search committee hopes to have its work completed by late autumn.

U.Va. Scientist Wins National Stand Up to Cancer Grant

Hui Li, an assistant professor of pathology at U.Va.'s Cancer Center, is one of 13 scientists in the nation to win an Innovative Research Grant from the film and media industry's Stand Up To Cancer charitable group.
