Annual ‘Trick-or-Treating on the Lawn’ Set for Today

The University of Virginia's Lawn will be the gathering place for hundreds of ghouls and goblins as children take part in U.Va.'s annual trick-or-treating tradition, to be held today from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is open to all local community members.

Barnett and Ramazani Are Honored With TJ Awards

Marva A. Barnett, French professor and founding director of the Teaching Resource Center, and R. Jahan Ramazani, Edgar F. Shannon Professor of English, are the recipients of the 2011 Thomas Jefferson Awards at the University of Virginia. The awards were presented Friday at Fall Convocation, held in the John Paul Jones Arena.

Grants Make a Difference in the Student Experience

The U.Va. Parents Committee can be thought of as an investment club – except instead of stocks and bonds, the members invest in U.Va.'s student experience. That's why many families, who are already paying tuition, fees and room and board, are willing to chip in another $2,500 or more to join the committee.
