U.Va. Art Museum Launches Free Interactive iPad App

It's now much easier to access some of the U.Va. Art Museum's collection, thanks to a new interactive 3-D iPad app, available for free at the iTunes App Store. The app lets the users see sides of these objects that they could never see before — without ever going into the museum.

Law School Team to Fight U.S. Ban on Women in Combat, Draft

More than 200,000 women have served in the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and more than 100 have died in Iraq alone. But frontline combat duty, with its risks and rewards, is not officially an option for American women serving in the military. A group of University of Virginia School of Law students, a professor and a graduate are seeking to change that.

U.Va.’s West Range Landscaping Refurbished

All is quiet again on U.Va.'s West Range after a renovation project that included better pedestrian access and drainage, new erosion control measures and stately stone walls defining the grass along the east side of McCormick Road. The work also included new curb cuts for the sidewalks and paving portions of the alleys.

‘Lighting of the Lawn’ to Brighten Grounds, Community

The 11th annual Lighting of the Lawn Thursday will not only illuminate U.Va.'s Academical Village, it will also help brighten a number of homes in the community. The Class of 2012 trustees, who sponsor and host the event, launched the "Light Up a Life" campaign this year in tandem with the Lighting of the Lawn to raise money to help low-income families pay their electricity bills.
