U.Va. School of Law alumnus Michael Cody and civil rights leader Julian Bond, a history professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, shared their personal stories about Martin Luther King Jr. in a discussion Tuesday night at the Law School.

University Takes Action in Wake of Student’s Death

In the immediate wake of fourth-year student Yeardley Love's death in May 2010, a shocked U.Va. community mourned the loss of one of its own. In the 21 months since, that mourning has evolved into sustained efforts to increase student safety and encourage open communication among students, staff and faculty.

David Prior, U.Va.-Wise Chancellor, Dies

U.Va.'s College at Wise is mourning the unexpected death of David J. Prior, the College's seventh chancellor. Prior, 68, died Thursday. "His many contributions to our college, our region and our students will continue to impact the campus for years to come," said Marcia Adams-Gilliam, chair of the U.Va.-Wise Board.

Engineering Team Creates Technology for the Disabled

Adam Maguire, a first-year student in U.Va.'s School of Engineering and Applied Science, and his classmates in "Introduction to Engineering" have built a prototype of a device that will enable people with limited or no use of their limbs to operate a computer using their tongues.
